Established in 2010, dewpoint is an award-winning print journal seeking to publish works of the highest quality from both emerging and established writers. All genres are accepted. Our only requirement is innovation: the pieces we publish either use old forms to present new ideas or use new forms to reinvigorate old thoughts; they either allow new voices to be heard or force old speakers to change topics.
As a product of Tuscaloosa, AL, dewpoint provides an opportunity for writers to publish their work in a print journal in conversation with some of the most exciting contemporary authors: Maurice Manning, BJ Hollars, Brian Oliu, Daniela Olszewska, and many others whom we are remiss to not list here.
We accept submissions during the fall semester of every academic year at uadewpoint [at] gmail [dot] com. Please attach .doc, .docx, or .pdf files to the email and include a short contributor’s note, along with your preferred name, as part of the short cover letter in the body of your email.
Please submit up to 10 pages total of work in one single word document or PDF. To clarify, writers may submit a story up to 10 pages OR several short flash fictions/short-shorts OR a combination of works totaling 10 pages.
Please submit up to 5 pages of poetry in one single word document or PDF.
Please submit up to 10 pages of critical work. Works that balance close reading with outside scholarship, secondary sources, and/or literary theory and criticism are strongly encouraged.
